Creativity Is About Asking Why

Edward De Bono said “There are many people calling themselves creative who are mere stylists”. I agree. Not that I have anything against being a stylist. But I truly think a creative is the one who doesn’t just appreciate aesthetics, but also asks the why questions.

Why does it have to be like that?

If not like that, what could it be like?

Creativity is about curiosity, enquiry and discovery. It’s about being uncomfortable with not knowing, with potentially being wrong, with taking the time to figure it out and also understanding we may not quite figure it out. And being okay with that. The richness, the depth and the texture to life when we take this approach and not just take things at face value is exquisite.

With love,

Jac
