“Death is not the biggest fear we have;
our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive” – Don Miguel Ruiz
In his book, ‘The Four Agreements’ Don Miguel Ruiz expands on the four basic principles we can live by to obtain a rich, fulfilling experience of life. I myself, first read this book and was jumping out of my skin with passion to incorporate these into every day, the words made sense yet were so simple. You know when each word is so charming and delicious, every cell in your body fills with joy. Yet even in this wonderful simplicity, there is serious work to be done. I constantly come back to this book to realign when being my best self isn’t as easy as it sounds. Here are ‘The Four Agreements” so brilliantly put by Don…
1. Be Impeccable with Your Word – Speak with integrity.
2. Don’t Take Anything Personally – Nothing others do is because of you.
3. Don’t Make Assumptions – Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want.
4. Always Do Your Best – Your best is going to change from moment to moment…simply do your best and you’ll avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.
