A School for Creativity, Consciousness & Clarity

L E T T E R from Jac – Not Chasing

A student went to his meditation teacher and said, “My meditation is horrible! I feel so distracted, or my legs ache, or I’m constantly falling asleep. It’s just horrible!”

“It will pass,” the teacher said matter-of-factly.

A week later, the student came back to his teacher. “My meditation is wonderful! I feel so aware, so peaceful, so alive! It’s just wonderful!’

“It will pass,” the teacher replied matter-of-factly.

With Integrated Meditation, we are always teaching that ‘this too shall pass’. So we don’t cling to any experiences, branding them good, and bad, instead just seeing them as experiences that are a part of our practice. We don’t live in monasteries and ashrams, away from the world with no technology and family and work. We are in the world, and usually deeply so, and so with our meditation practice that compliments that, we need to have clarity that we are meditating, not for the experience of meditating, but for how amazing we feel after our practice.
