I have found that trusting the universe is an easier task when things are ‘going my way’. I delight in the universe, and the Divine when I can see what’s ahead of me clearly. How right everything is the world, and how right I am to trust it all! Cue it going ’not my way’ and that trust being tested to within an inch of its life. I feel we all head in this direction, ‘Trusting With Terms and Conditions’. You can see how ridiculous it is in a calmer moment. It’s like saying to a lover, I will only love you when I find you agreeable and pleasant, and as soon as things get slightly tricky, I no longer love you.
That’s not love. In the same way trust isn’t trust if it’s only when our wants and wishes are delivered. Lately this has been my greatest challenge (along with Surrender, they seem to hold hands and giggle together a lot). I feel like I am sometimes in the thick of a dust storm and I can’t see more than a single step in front of me. And if that’s the greatest test of trusting the divine, than it’s one I want to engage with, not run from.
Ask yourself, where are you holding prejudices and biases for what ’should’ be happening at the moment. Where have you lost your faith a little or a lot. What ideas would you need to let go of, to regain that trust?
